“The Crane and the Heron”
/ based on a Russian folk tale /
Director: Ya. Gromova
Designer: K. Verbitskaya
Music design: E. Fisenko
The familiar childhood story of the Crane and the Heron is told here almost without words, accompanied by the soulful sound of Gypsy romances.
The puppet characters — the Crane and the Heron, created from everyday objects in an artist’s workshop — reveal the path to each other’s hearts, while the main character, a lonely artist, finally finds personal happiness.
His inner world, thoughts, and emotions are brought to life through the puppets and the scenography imagined by Kristina Verbitskaya. Objects, paper, ropes, and fabrics become instruments for creating striking forms, which, in the artist’s world, come alive on stage.
Duration: 50 minutes
